SHERMAN OAKS · PROPOSAL COMPARISON

Sherman Oaks roofing estimates: compare the scope.

Are both proposals describing the same work? Request LeadQuoteHub review now, or use the optional worksheet to identify missing scope and questions.

LeadQuoteHub is a marketplace, not a roofing contractor. A request does not confirm service, contractor availability or a response time.

Before comparing totals, compare the written scope

Use the free QuoteScope tool to organize one or two roofing proposals and prepare neutral questions about unclear or different scope.

How to reach you

Provide a phone number or email address. Only one is needed for LeadQuoteHub to contact you about this project.

Your permissions

LeadQuoteHub is a marketplace, not a roofing contractor. We receive, review, verify and qualify your project request to help connect you with an appropriate independent roofing contractor. Contractors perform the work; LeadQuoteHub does not guarantee availability, pricing or results. A contractor may be selected after submission. No contractor receives your information from this submission.

Optional. You can request LeadQuoteHub review without referral permission. No contractor receives your information from this submission. Neither choice authorizes marketing texts or automated/prerecorded marketing calls.

Wait for your receipt before closing this page.

OPTIONAL QUOTE SCOPE WORKSHEET

Compare two written proposals.

Use LeadQuoteHub's Quote Scope Standard, version1.0 (September13,2026). Its nine categories and five states organize questions; they are not a government standard, site assessment or determination of equivalent work.

Start with unknown wherever a proposal is silent. No price is calculated here. Entries stay on this page and are not sent with your request. Use your browser's print command if you want a paper copy.

Nine categories × two proposals × five scope states
Quote Scope category and questionProposal AProposal B
1. Parties and eligibility

Who is contracting, who is authorized, and what licensing or insurance evidence should be checked?

2. Existing-condition record

What observations and assumptions support the proposal, and what is still unverified?

3. Removal and substrate

What removal is included, and how will concealed substrate work be documented and authorized?

4. Roof assembly

Which material, underlayment, attachment, ventilation and assembly details are specified?

5. Interfaces

Which flashings, penetrations, edges and drainage connections are included?

6. Site and operations

What protection, access, debris handling, cleanup and occupied-home arrangements are included?

7. Permits and compliance

Who asks the authority about this address and scope, and who handles any applicable approvals and inspections?

8. Commercial terms

What written payment, allowance, optional-work and change-approval terms apply?

9. Warranty and closeout

Which warranties, exclusions, completion documents and inspection records will be supplied?

TURN A STATE INTO A QUESTION

Clarify each difference in writing.

Choose the prompt that matches your worksheet state. Ask it for the specific category and proposal. Different states do not prove one contractor or proposal is better.

included

The proposal expressly includes the item.

Ask: Which quantity, specification and written scope confirm what is included?

excluded

The proposal expressly leaves the item out.

Ask: Who handles the excluded work, and does another part of the project depend on it?

allowance

The proposal provides a provisional amount or quantity.

Ask: What assumption, limit, reconciliation and written approval apply if actual work differs?

optional

The item is a separately elected addition.

Ask: What is the base scope without it, and how is the choice recorded?

unknown

The proposal is silent, ambiguous or not yet verified.

Ask: Can you state in writing whether this item is included, excluded, an allowance or optional?

Unknown or incompatible scope needs clarification.

Unknown is not zero or included.

A blank category is unresolved work. Ask for a written state, specification and reference before using it in a comparison.

A total does not establish equivalence.

Different assemblies, removal assumptions, allowances, exclusions or warranties can describe different jobs. Keep incompatible proposals separate until the difference is explained.

“Commercial terms” means the contract's payment and change terms in this homeowner worksheet. It does not change your selected repair or replacement service.

For the actual property address, which authority should you ask about the proposed work? What approval and inspection questions remain? LADBS guidance and LA City Planning address tools can help you identify the right inquiry; this worksheet does not determine requirements.

Method and sources

Use only the categories and states above; do not silently change the method. Changes to the underlying Quote Scope Standard require a separately reviewed version. CSLB contract guidance supports asking for written materials, scope, changes and responsibilities; it does not endorse this worksheet.
